This document began as a spark across generations—bridging Gen Z and Boomers (with gratitude to Tim Broadhead and Stephen Huddart), igniting conversations about what history erases, distorts, and leaves unspoken. What lessons have been buried? What truths were left unmourned, unlearned, unpassed?
That spark did not remain contained. It caught onto Millennials and Gen Xers, growing into a collective effort—not to smooth over tensions, but to hold them. This text is not a balm; it is a reckoning. It does not promise comfort, nor should it. The weight it carries reflects the weight of the work ahead.
Our project, Rewiring 4 Reality (R4Rs), is not here to offer new answers. It exists to re-pattern how we ask, how we listen, how we stand in the storm without rushing for shelter. This document is part of that process—staying with complexity rather than fleeing into resolution, resisting the gravitational pull of defensiveness or despair.

Stephen Huddart’s introduction to The Wave of the US Empire sets the stage for a deep reckoning with intergenerational complexity. Drawing from his decades of experience in philanthropy, social change, and cultural work, Huddart offers a reflective entry point into the tensions, contradictions, and responsibilities that shape our present moment. He invites readers to move beyond nostalgia or defensiveness and instead engage with history as something alive—something that implicates us all differently across generations.
A Mini-Review by Donna Nelham (Founder of Unstitution): her invitation ‘from the common[s] space between’ to engage with this ‘work’ that is now available to us all.
